Hi and welcome to scloud.work 👋
I'm Florian Salzmann, a Microsoft MVP from Switzerland. I work hands-on with the Microsoft cloud, with a strong focus on endpoint management, security, and automation. Everything you'll find here is based on real projects, real rollouts, and the challenges that appear when theory meets production.

scloud.work is not a marketing blog. It's about solutions that work, lessons learned, and content that actually helps in day-to-day administration.

Day-to-Day Work
What I focus on
My day-to-day work mainly revolves around:
- Endpoint management with Microsoft Intune
- Endpoint security with Microsoft Defender
- Entra ID, identity, access, and security controls
- Cloud-first workplace concepts and automation
I help organisations design and run modern environments that are secure, scalable, and usable in practice.
How it started
My cloud journey began in 2012 during my apprenticeship. Back then, “cloud” for many customers still meant private hosted services like Citrix desktops or hosted Exchange.
In 2014, I delivered my first true cloud-only project for a school, using the old Intune Silverlight portal. The tools have changed massively since then, but the core challenge has remained the same:
Building solutions that are secure, scalable, and actually usable.

Why scloud.work exists
The Microsoft 365 and endpoint management community helped me level up quickly, mainly through open sharing and honest exchange. This site is my way of giving something back.
Here you'll find practical write-ups, troubleshooting notes, scripts, and lessons learned that you can apply directly in your own tenant.

In February 2023, I reached a personal milestone and received my first Microsoft MVP award in Enterprise Mobility.

Together with Jannik Reinhard, I also run msnugget.com.
We publish one short post per week, designed to be read in about one minute. The format is simple: relevant changes, news, and “good to know” topics around endpoint management, security, and AI. Practical, admin-focused, and straight to the point.
Newsletter Updates
A monthly recap of the best msnuggets — the most useful Intune, Entra ID, security and AI updates in one short email.

Since 2022, I've been an Official Contributor in the Modern Endpoint Management Group on LinkedIn, helping shape discussions, content, and community initiatives.
As part of this work, we also organise the MEM Summit, an in-person event for endpoint management professionals that has been running since 2023. The goal is simple: real-world sessions, honest discussions, and direct exchange between practitioners.
